From Heartbreak to Hope: How Dream Big Corp Was Born

Hello everyone!

Thank you for checking out Maryam’s Joyful Life blog today. I’m so glad you’re here. I wanted to take a moment to share something close to my heart, a journey that began nine years ago—one that turned pain into purpose and fear into faith.

Nine years ago, I started Dream Big Corp during a time when my life was far from perfect. I was struggling both financially and emotionally. Just a few months earlier, I had experienced the heartbreaking loss of a baby at just 7 weeks old. It was one of the most painful and lonely seasons of my life. But instead of allowing that sorrow to bury me, I made a decision—I wanted to do something good for others, even in my grief.

My son; Le’Veon
My daughter; Zoe
My Sweetman and my newborn; Laila

In the middle of that mourning and uncertainty, God blessed me with another child—my sweet Le'Veon. He brought so much light into my darkness, and reminded me that joy can grow even from the deepest pain. I was filled with gratitude, but life was still difficult. I had been praying tirelessly for God to move the immigration process and release my work documents. The waiting was long, exhausting, and at times, discouraging.

But despite it all, I felt a tug on my heart to serve. I didn’t have much, but I wanted to give. I began reaching out to people, asking for donations—food, money, anything they could spare—to help our local homeless community. With every small act of kindness, something inside me healed a little more. Dream Big Corp became more than a project; it became a lifeline, a mission, and a way to spread hope.

And today… what can I say? God has been so good. I’m now a U.S. citizen, and I also own a travel business—a dream I once thought was so far out of reach. The path hasn’t been easy, but every step was worth it.

I just want to encourage anyone reading this today: Don’t give up. Whatever you’re going through, trust God and never stop believing. Even in the darkest seasons, He is working behind the scenes. Great things are ahead for you.

If this story touched your heart, I’d love for you to share this post with someone who needs a little hope today. And if you're feeling called to be part of something bigger, consider donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word about Dream Big Corp. Together, we can keep making a difference—one life at a time.

Keep dreaming big,

Maryam

A Week Full of Joy, Celebration, and Gratitude

Hello everybody,

Thank you so much for stopping by to read my post today! I’m writing this with a heart overflowing with happiness and deep gratitude. This past week has been nothing short of amazing for our family, and I just couldn’t wait to share it with you all.

Yesterday, my sweet babies, Le’Veon and Zoe, had their school awards ceremony—and oh, what a moment it was! Watching them walk across that stage was a reminder of how hard they’ve worked and how far they’ve come.

Although Le’Veon just missed the AB Honor Roll, he ended the school year strong and with his head held high. He received three incredible awards recognizing his hard work, persistence, and more. I couldn’t be prouder of his growth and determination!

And then there’s Zoe—what a superstar! She absolutely crushed it this year, earning straight A’s, winning the Spelling Bee, and receiving the Principal’s Award for Academic Achievement. And as if that wasn’t enough, she was also inducted into the prestigious 100 Book Club for reading over 200 books and taking over 200 quizzes, excelling in flying colors. Zoe’s dedication to learning has truly been awe-inspiring!

To celebrate their accomplishments, my Sweetman and I wanted to do something special and memorable. So, we booked a relaxing staycation at the Element Hotel by Westin in Buckhead, Atlanta. It’s a beautiful and modern hotel that’s just a mile away from our dinner spot—and yes, I’m talking about none other than the fabulous Fogo De Chão, the Brazilian steakhouse we love!

We’ve been to Fogo De Chão before (it was our New Year’s Day dinner spot back in January), but this visit was even better. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and family-friendly—perfect for our celebration. Our server was beyond amazing—so thoughtful and kind. She surprised the kids with complimentary desserts in honor of their outstanding achievements, which truly made the evening even more special.

Despite a little rush hour traffic, the commute from the hotel to the restaurant was smooth, and the whole night felt like a dream.

For those of you reading this and maybe feeling like nothing exciting has been happening in your life lately, I just want to say this from the bottom of my heart: Give thanks for where you are right now. Even in the quiet seasons, there is purpose and beauty. Keep trusting God. Your time to celebrate is coming, and I’m praying that God blesses you with something wonderful very soon.

Until then, stay joyful, stay hopeful, and keep showing up.

With love and light,
Maryam
