IT IS THANKSGIVING DAY AND I AM SO THANKFUL

What's up wonderful, amazing, sweet and lovely people. How are you all doing today? I hope you're all having an amazing time with family and friends. Welcome to Maryam's Joyful Life. Today is a beautiful day. Thank you for checking out my blog today.

So today is Thanksgiving day and I am very grateful to be a part of it and for God's protection of me and my children.

This is my favorite Thanksgiving dessert. A slice of pecan pie with a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream. It is heaven on a plate and to your taste buds lol.

My Christmas Pjs are from walmart.com

I am grateful for today. God has been faithful to me. I want to stop every now and then to give thanks for good health and Divine protection over me and my children. God has truly been good to us. For most of us, it is normal for us to be grateful only when something extraordinary happens to us but that's not the only time we ought to show gratitude. I am learning to show gratitude when nothing crazy happens. I am learning to treat each moment as a miracle because there are people going through very difficult seasons right now but not me.

See, I am learning each passing day that the more things I can give thanks for, the more things I will have to give thanks for. Sometimes I get blinded by the things I don't yet have and stand in my own way of being happy in the moment. Life as I am learning to live it, is lived in the moment. Happiness and joy shouldn't be postponed to a later date. It is in the NOW! I am learning more each day to count my blessings and focus on positivity. I have experienced a transformation in my thoughts since I started intentionally focusing on the good.

Today being Thanksgiving Day is not the ONLY day of the year we give thanks for our many blessings. I believe giving thanks should be a part of our daily practice. Our human conditioning is so deceptive. It steals our joy of the present by ushering thoughts of past failures or future uncertainties and the moment we buy into these deceptions, we become victims to circumstances instead of creators of the type of experience we would truly love.

I am making the commitment each day, to be very aware of the thoughts I let take root in me. I know how it feels to dwell on uncertainties and past failures. It SUCKS! In my experience, you only produce more the same fruits if you focus on the seeds of past failures and uncertainties. Now, I just focus on the joy and beauty of each moment and of course what I would really love. Each day, I take a few moments to write and think about my goals. I notice the more I do this, the better I feel and the more excited the future seems. In fact, I bring the future to me whenever I get excited about my goals. It's like I am already the person I want to be and it is amazing. Try it!

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving because I enjoyed mine. I am grateful for me, my children and for you.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

With gratitude,

Maryam

MY GO TO BEVERAGES FOR THANKSGIVING

What's up wonderful, amazing, sweet and lovely people. How are you all doing today? I hope you're all having an amazing day today and are not letting anyone steal your joy. Welcome to Maryam's Joyful Life. Today is a beautiful day. Thank you all for checking out my blog today. I want to welcome my new blog subscribers. Thank you for being a part of my world. You're amazing.

Thanksgiving is in two days. I have been sharing my favorite Thanksgiving foods on the menu with you all since Sunday. I have also shared one of the major reasons I am thankful this year with you all. In today's blog post, I will be sharing my favorite beverages with you all. You can't have all that delicious food without some liquid to wash it down your digestive tract lol. Here's my favorite list of beverages to drink during Thanksgiving. Enjoy!

Orange Juice

This beautiful picture is taken from healthline.com I couldn't resist the perfection and had to share it.

Orange juice is amazing! Not only is it bursting with vitamin C and fiber, it is just the perfect amount of acidity for your digestive tract. I love orange juice with my breakfasts and on Thanksgiving. It is amazing. It has to be a little chilled, not too chilled to catch a cold lol. Depending on what rejoin you live, you serve it with the perfect level of chillness and you have a wonderful feast. I love orange juice. You can buy a gallon at your neighborhood grocery store or get some fresh oranges and squeeze the juice yourself. Either way, it's wonderful.

Lemonade

This refreshing picture is from thespruceeats.com and it gives me some homey vibes.

Did someone just say "Lemonade?" Lemonade is your go to when you're looking for instant refreshment before diving into your Thanksgiving feast. Lemonade prepares your taste pallets for the amazing feast. Lemonade is not just great during the summer time, it is amazing during Thanksgiving also. The tang of a lemon and the sweetness of sugar in a cup of water can do magic to your whole system. I love lemonade. If you want to assist your metabolism, lemonade can do that. Lemons have cleansing qualities to them. They clear your system of toxic chemicals and keep your immune system in great shape. I love lemons and lemonade.

Water

Nothing beats water. Water is life, water is joy and water is health. If you have any reserved feelings about lemonade or orange juice, just go with plain and simple water. I love water. You can get tired of drinking lemonade or orange juice, but never water. At least hope not. Water is the very essence of life and I will be drinking lots of it during Thanksgiving and everyday. The power of water can never be overstated. When your head is feeling cobwebby, a simple cup of water can clear it. Always have a cup or bottle of water handy. It will do you a whole lotta good.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving.

With love and gratitude,

Maryam

STILL SHARING MY THANKSGIVING MENU|| DESSERTS

What's up wonderful, amazing, sweet and lovely people. I hope you're all having a great day and are not letting anyone steal your joy. Welcome to another yummy blog post. Today is a beautiful day. It's evening time in Hampton, Georgia and I couldn't end the day without sharing my favorite deserts for Thanksgiving. I intend to go all out this year and by the grace of God I will.

As I look back on all that has happened in my life this year, I am grateful that I am alive to share my menu with you all. God has been very Gracious to me and my heart is full of love and gratitude. Here we go:

Chocolate Brownie

This mouthwatering picture is from Food52.com

I don't eat brownies all the time but this Thanksgiving, I will be helping myself to some really yummy  ooey gooey homemade brownies straight from MooYam's Joyful kitchen lol. That's my kitchen's nickname by the way. I intend to savor every bite of my homemade brownie. I can already tell that it will be one for the books.

Pecan Pie

This amazing looking pecan pie is from Barbarabakes.com

I love pecan pies at Thanksgiving. I especially love it with a scoop of vanilla Ice cream. It is the ultimate decadent dessert after your main course at Thanksgiving. It gives your taste buds a run for their money. I must say that this Thanksgiving is one I will not forget for a long time.

A Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream over Pecan Pie

This amazing picture from Iambaker.net of a scoop of vanilla  ice cream over a slice of pecan pie truly conveys the message to my taste buds and does pecan pie food justice. MMMMM yum!!

I think I have fed your eyes enough sugar for the night. I hope you got a little bit of inspiration from today's dessert menu.

Until next time.

Don't let anyone steal your joy!

With gratitude,

Maryam

THANKSGIVING WILL BE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR|| SHARING MY MENU

What's up wonderful, amazing, sweet and lovely people. How are you all doing today? I hope you're all having a great day today and are not letting anyone steal your joy. Welcome to Maryam's Joyful Life blog. Today is a beautiful day. Thank you for checking out my blog. It means a lot to me.

So Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It is in 4 days. Oh how so much has changed in my life for the better since last Thanksgiving. God is faithful. This year, I am thankful for so many things. The major reason is that my children and I are in a better and safer environment. Life is good and it is only going to keep getting better. Sometimes when hard things happen in our lives, we tend to question it or cry about it but I have learned that the best way to handle it is to harvest the good and move on.

Life is beautiful and it's beauty can only be enjoyed by those who choose to see it, focus on it and believe it. I have decided and keep deciding everyday to see the beauty of life, to look for it, to believe in it and to focus on it. I always have a choice. You do too. It doesn't matter how hard your life may be right now, it's a change of mind that will usher in a new experience for you. I encourage you to change your mind today. I promise when you do, you will start living a different life.

So, I actually sat on my computer to share my menu with you all but ended up encouraging you to see the beauty in life. LOL! Sometimes, I feel like I came to this world to elevate the spirit of people through my words and experience. Okay, I'm going to share my menu now. This year, I am making the following dishes.

Turkey

Turkey is the main dish for Thanksgiving. You have to have turkey and it must be perfectly roasted. I have had many mishaps when it comes to roasting the perfect turkey over the years but I can now proudly say that I have mastered my craft in turkey roasting and seasoning. Here's a picture of a perfectly roasted turkey from Cookthestory.com Christine Pittman did an amazing job with this one and I couldn't resist sharing this picture with you.

Mashed Potato

Mashed potatoes are a must when it comes to Thanksgiving meals for me. Here's a picture from Taste.com.au to set off my taste buds and creativity while I prepare for Thanksgiving.

Mac & Cheese

Mac and cheese, not just any kind but oven baked mac and cheese will take your Thanksgiving food experience to another level. I intend to put in the effort to make a memorable Mac & Cheese this year. Here is a picture from tablespoon.com to spark your interest because it sure sparked mine.

Salad

I love a good salad. I have to have my salad for Thanksgiving. This year I will be making a very colorful salad for myself. While I was browsing on Google for inspiration, I came across this picture of a very well tossed salad by food.ndtv.com. This is a glorious looking salad and I can't wait to make one like this.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my post today. Please subscribe to keep up with me.

Until next post, stay safe and keep your mind at rest.

With gratitude,

Maryam
